What ever happened to good old honest love songs?

My girls are so into the whole Karate Kid trilogy at the moment which is awesome because for the movies I watch and enjoyed when I was a kid seeing my girls getting the same enjoyment is so cool... and let it be known I am still a big fan too.. but it drags me back to when I was a kid and thinking life does pan out for the good guy, movies ended really well and the music, 1980's fashion rock was so positive and so full of passion that even today when you listen to it, it really makes you smile.
For example 'Glory of love' by Peter Cetera' (Karate Kid 2) what a great song.. If only there were men out there who could live up to those powerful words...

I know that you are singing that in your head now.. admit it you are! But doesn't that make you sigh..makes your heart beat that little bit louder and sends those butterflies crazy in your belly. Does this kind of love even exist anymore? Do people actually find the real deal or is it the wolf in sheep clothing effect which our society seems to be promoting?

I want to believe that this man will come and fight for my honor and be my hero that Ive been dreaming of...... well I guess Ill have to keep dreaming..

Well At least I can sit back watch Karate Kid 2 with my 'glory of love' song and be lost in a moment... hahaha..

Contradictions

Why is my life so cliche at the moment.. maybe what I believed in so strongly are the things that are holding me back.

I feel ever year that I am wishing for the year to end hopefully 2008 will be the break away year where things go right.. things work and fall into place.

Ive come accustom to change and I'm wishing whole hearted for the best next year.. fingers crossed.
